Welcome back to my blog! I hope you’re all well?
You’ve probably seen this foundation floating around the internet before but i really wanted to give my verdict on it. If you are not aware of this amazing Estée Lauder Double Wear Dupe that’s now being sold in Primark for £5, then gal where’ve you been?!
I seen the lovely Gina (ohmygeee – on YouTube) reviewing this gem on her Instagram and YouTube channel, obviously me being the foundation obsessor i am, i had to get my paws on it.
I sent Karl into our local Primark to pick it up for me.. LADIES! I have to say one thing .. Karl guessed this shade for me, he simply looked at this shade and decided YEP that’s going to do! And guess what? Its the most perfect matching foundation i think I’ve ever actually owned, its not too pale and its not too dark! It’s literally spot on! – so If you’d like to hire him to pick out your foundations in the near future then simply send me an email with your foundation choice and a small fee hehe, joking!
My foundation is in the shade Nude Beige, for anyone that’s wondering. Like i said it retails for £5, and karl has kindly informed me that they had a big variety of shade range.. from pale to dark skin tones! Can we give a shoutout to primark please and thank you hehe.. Oh also unlike any normal foundation you actually get 32ml of product, whereas any other foundation only contains 30ml, so that’s an extra 2ml for £20+ cheaper?
The Review –
Everything down to the bottle screamed Estée Lauder at me with this product.
Under the foundation i applied my everyday primer, which is the Ultra Base Primer by Revolution. As I said the colour match was spot on thanks karl , i applied one side with a damp beauty blender and the other side of my face with my Primark – Foundation and Contour Brush. Personally i think it applied so much better with a brush rather than the beauty blender. The coverage is something else, it hid my bright red cheeks and in all honesty the finish looked flawless. The finish is Matte, which is something that i think is needed for this time of year – on me anyway.
I managed to keep my eye on it all day, one thing i must say is for a full coverage foundation this is really light weight. At some points throughout the day I actually forgot I’d even put makeup on. Some people love this, some people hate it.. me? I don’t mind it. The foundation stayed matte all day and the colour stayed the same too, there was no sign of oxidising which is always a bonus if you ask me.
Another thing i must mention is if you suffer with dry skin, with a layer of moisturiser underneath the foundation i think this would be perfect. I have combination oily/dry skin and it didn’t cling to any of my dry patches, and no oils managed to make their guest appearance through it – (Something i have noticed with the Double Wear is my oils especially in my T-zone tend to come through during the day).
The lasting power is similar to the Estée Lauder one, it lasted the entire time i was in work and I didn’t have any signs of it wearing away. The coverage stayed the same all day and hid all my brightness – one of the main reasons why i wear makeup!
If you’re on the hunt for a cheaper alternative to the Estée Lauder Double Wear, you should definitely take a trip into your local Primark. Also if you can get your hands on the Foundation and Contour Brush you should defo throw that into your basket too, they’re currently on sale for £1. They’re the perfect combo!
Have you tried this foundation? What’s your opinions?
Thank you so much for reading lovelies,
